Creators on Plannin often document their travels through video, but manually creating trip boards, listing destinations, writing descriptions, and finding visuals, is time-consuming and inconsistent. The client wanted to build an AI-driven automation pipeline that could analyze a creator’s video and generate a complete, visually appealing trip board map from it.

We developed a custom AI workflow that turns video content into structured, location-based storytelling trip boards. The system performs the entire process autonomously:
When a creator provides a link to YouTube or TikTok, the algorithm retrieves the video and extracts its metadata and transcript.
NLP models verify whether the content genuinely refers to a trip or travel experience, ensuring only relevant material is processed.
The system analyzes the transcript to identify all mentioned destinations using entity recognition and geocoding techniques.
The detected locations are validated online and plotted automatically on an interactive trip board map.
A language model summarizes each location’s context and relevance based on the transcript, producing natural-sounding, creator-style descriptions.
Finally, the algorithm searches for high-quality imagery of each destination, compiling an engaging, ready-to-publish trip board.
The solution allows creators to turn their travel videos into interactive guides within minutes with no manual editing required.

This AI innovation elevated Plannin’s content ecosystem, bridging travel storytelling and technology to help creators share their journeys more intuitively.
